Our Journey: How We Started

Premier Lowcountry Magazine was founded in 2012 by Barbara and Bill Bricker, locals to our area with the focus on “Bringing the Best of what our Community has to offer.” Our goal is to promote quality without congestion. The custom layouts make it convenient for our readers to locate our featured articles and quality businesses we promote. We like to bring content with a purpose, and stories people like to read because they can relate. We love the Lowcountry and want to share it with you through our eyes.

Our Journey: Continuously Loving Local

Mylene Owens, the current owner, was born in Hilton Head and spent her childhood living between Hilton Head, Bluffton, and Savannah. Tamela Maxim, the editor, was born in Bluffton and shares the passion of promoting the locally owned and operated businesses. Annalore Harrell, contributing writer, and mother to Tamela Maxim brings class and tradition to the publication with her stories of beaches, gravestones, and telling us what it was like growing up in the 40’s and 50’s before the build-up of the area. With all the Premier Lowcountry Magazine brings to our readers, we thought we would take it a step further by publishing a digital magazine to include expert blogs written by our own local business owners. With the changes going on in the advertising world, we have found that some companies prefer digital ads, as opposed to print, and some like to take the traditional route of printed ads. Because of our love of the area and the desire to promote local, with this, we can work with more people offering more options to promote their livelihood. We hope you enjoy our website and all the work that was put in it by a community of professionals all working together to keep you informed with up to date, and trending information you may find helpful with your day to day routine.
